We had a fantastic experience with Alan Duckworth and Yvonne Burford at Wilkin Chapman, who acted for us for our new house and mortgage. Alan as our solicitor was quick, clearly very experienced and knowledgable and we never once felt worried or even had to chase him. Yvonne also kept us up to speed throughout and was amazingly helpful if we ever needed to call. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat! Thanks so much for all your help!

Do Not Use for Conveyancing! Difficult to fully express my disappointment with the complete lack of organisation, co-ordination and communication from these guys when it comes to conveyancing. I would like to say they were just new and incompetent but apparently they are experienced so it must be negligence. Since starting a simple conveyance In JULY which had no chain at either end, they managed to exchange contracts at the start of DECEMBER then failed to complete on the arranged date leaving their customer subject to excess charges in interest for non-completion on time.
There are no words to express the determined lack of interest shown by either the conveyance team or any other managers who had been alerted to the lack of attention or action shown in this case. Don't risk it - find a conveyancer that is not self-satisfied and ALWAYS check their reviews to see if they care.

This outfit continually delayed proceedings building up ridiculous fees in the process! Wilkin Chapman Grimsby charged me 860 for writing 59 letters which generally duplicated adjournment dates that the court had already sent to me. Each time the case came to court it would be adjourned for dubious reasons such as they did not have the required info from the claimant & then charged me 125 for the pleasure.
The case was delayed also due to covid & they again have billed me for these adjournments. I attempted to settle the matter several times to avoid these unnecessary costs & court time but they did not want to know. The case was dismissed eventually & Wilkins Chapman then had the nerve to bill me 5.5k! I now understand why they had no interest in settling the case 12 months earlier! The pandemic must be hurting them in the pocket! Avoid like the proverbial

This company recently dealt with my personal injury claim, which was at the minor end of the scale. They acted on a "no win, no fee" basis, taking 25% of my damages as payment. I get the impression that some law firms don't really want such work, but don't really want to refuse it either. Having dealt with solicitors before, both from this company and elsewhere, two things were notable in my view.
They worked at a very impressive rate comparable to previous experiences. The case was conducted from initial contact to conclusion in less than 5 months. Unfortunately, in their communications with me, they gave an unreassuring feeling which didn't give me the impression they were "fighting my corner" as hard as they could, although I haven't seen their communications with the other party.
They pointed out the weaknesses in my case, but didn't assure me they'd be hitting the other side with the strengths of my case. In the end, an acceptable outcome was arrived at. Would I use them again? It's a difficult one; let's just say that it might not be possible to do better elsewhere, without the sort of money I don't have!

I have been very impressed with Sally Wright of Wilkin Chapman LLP, who has helped me through to completion of a complex purchase lease option. She is highly profession, pragmatic, down to earth, responsive, and easy to talk to. She has come up with pragmatic solutions to address the concerns of the vendor's solicitor. I would strongly recommend Sally and will certainly be using her services in the future.

I phoned up to book a appointment with a solicitor first off the reception wasn't sure who to put me in touch with.when eventually she put me threw to someone the lady said nope not my department, I will ask about and get in touch this was Thursday.not heard back. So maybe big companies just aren't that bothered. Now I am going with a smaller company who actually want work

I'm genuinely grateful to Sally Wright for her expert advice, careful attention to detail and unwavering patience. I got in touch with Sally when the opportunity came up to buy a neighbour's flat, a rental landlord who had been a source of problems for years. The sale dragged on for much longer than we'd been led to expect and my neighbour sprang plenty of unwelcome surprises. But Sally was professional, proactive, thorough and unfazed from start to finish. I would warmly recommend Sally and her team.
