Do not use this firm. Purchases are not registered with HMLR on time. You will find it hard to sell. Slack attitude due to existing clients. No customer care. Specially avoid Kevin. No idea how he made partner. Huffing and puffing down stairs, if you meet him you will see why he is lazy.

I have only just realised I didn't leave a review after a house move that took place in April last year. The fact still stands that we were incredibly happy with the service provided by Marcus Beavis and his team. They were responsive to all our questions and resolved all concerns in a timely manner. We went from our buyers viewing to us moving in nine weeks and this is largely down to the diligent and timely work performed by the team. I am hoping we don't need to move again any time soon but, if we did, I would have no concerns with using Thackray Williams again.

We had a terrible experience with them. Interestingly, we were dealing with one of the partners so we thought we were in good hands but, our very simple/straightforward house purchase (not our first house purchase) was made so difficult by them. I can see some positive reviews here, which I was surprised by and maybe ours was an isolated incident; either way, I felt it's only fair we shared our experience, so people can make an informed decision.

Despite paying upfront, there was very little communication, shoddy responses to questions asked via email, no acknowledgement of various stages of the purchase. NOTHING. We had to liaise with the vendors directly to clarify certain things. We had to chase for everything, including confirmation of exchange, updates on searches, any legal updates, mortgage payment from the banks to their account, our own deposit/payments to them.

To add to this, our solicitor decided to go off on holiday, without letting us know or adequately briefing a member of his team of our situation. It was a nightmare. Since completion, its taken 9 months to get them to provide us with our documents - after repeated chasing via email and phone. Yes, due to Covid, things were delayed/difficult (Eg. Land Registry) but the least we expected was to be kept in the loop. I hope this serves as constructive feedback to them.

The calm, rational explanations and solid professional legal advice provided by my solicitor, Faye Shortall, made a big difference to me at what was a very difficult time in my life. If you are having difficulties and are struggling to come to a satisfactory resolution in a civil fashion, I cannot recommend Faye Shortall and Thrackray Williams Bromley enough.

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness My solicitor cannot get any response from this firm. All 3 people dealing with the file are out of the office on the same day and repeated requests to make contact are ignored. The level of service and professionalism is very poor.

We used Thackray Williams for our recent house move and were so impressed by the level of service and professionalism we received from both Katie and Eleanor who managed our case. Both were extremely helpful and responsive throughout, allowing us to complete our sale and purchase swiftly and ahead of the SDLT deadline. We're very grateful for their support and would highly recommend their services.

If you would like your case dragged on and on and on with out any good reason, you should use them. I needed a simple consent of their client which I am paying Thackray William for, took them over 4 months and still not resolved. Solicitor who is dealing with this just pass on anything their clients passes on without any validation or checks. It causes a lot confusion and time wasted.

Every time I chase them their answer would just be I can't talk to you or your solicitors haven't kept you up to date. What took me 5 mins to resolve took them over two or three weeks to get a reply of it is in progress. My advice is do not go anywhere near them.

We would like to thank John and Melanie for their exceptional support in helping us buy our dream home. Everything was so seamless and we completed within 30 days from the date of finding the property. Thanks for helping us save on the stamp duty! Love -Richa and Nikhil
