I was very pleased with the service I received from Edward, Tristan and Adrian regarding a complex matter. I assisted them as much as I could, which helped them to deliver superlative service and more peace of mind for me. I am used to writing detailed letters to "sort matters out", but also know when to leave something to the experts. I had availed myself of the assistance of one of their ex-colleagues in the past for a completely unrelated matter, and was deeply impressed with the service provided.

Once again, my expectations were fully met. This was not a cheap exercise, but in the end I feel it was money well spent. I have dealt with shonky lawyers in the past (particularly with conveyancing), but Pennington Manches Cooper LLC is a class act. A full breakdown of anticipated fees (within a range) was given upfront, and when I received the invoice it had stayed within those bounds.

All communications were timely, responsive, detailed and very friendly in nature. I would not hesitate to use them again if the need should ever arise - professional in every manner!

Critical: Quality, Value I paid 350/hr for what I hoped would be a good solicitor to help my daughter in an employment case. What I got was a weak, posturing clerk with headed notepaper. Don't go here.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness The most incompetent conveyancers I've ever come across. They are the reason our purchase has fallen through. If you are the party of the transaction that is not using them, pull out when is still early. If you are the party who instructed them, well, the blame is on you for whatever will happen.

Exploitative fees. I was surprised when a saw a 2900 bill for a simple Tier 2 Visa procedure, while the average costs at other immigration lawyers are around 600.

The Madrid office get 5 stars without hesitation. They listned to what I wanted and then recommended another company more local to me, and cheaper. No fees applied. That's an honest service! For the London office, I had an initial enquiry but the person who returned my call was very thorough and made sure I understood everything. Would be five stars but they had to be reminded to return the call after a week or so.

I was frantically trying to find a firm of solicitors to take on a case of potential medical negligence and to challenge the outcome of a Coroners inquest into the death of my wife. Someone contacted me immediately from Penningtons and did a most thorough job of taking the details concerning the case and Mr Kyriacou who deals with these matters promptly sent me an email and arranged to call me.

Mr Kyriacou did indeed call me and despite not being able to take on my case without all the relevant evidence, was most helpful and knowledgeable, I would like to thank him for his condolences, his honesty and his time spent discussing the matter with me.

Incredibly slow! My solictior requested information 6 weeks ago and after chasing them constantly the information STILL hasnt been passed over. Have delayed my house sale, NOT happy.

Daylight robbers. They were the other solicitors in the purchase of a freehold and they were significantly more than the cost of our solicitors. They were so extortionate our solicitor felt the need to challenge them and we had to get a breakdown of the costs. and that makes some reading! Some of the time allowances for the most basic of emails are laughable. Stay away!

If I ever had the money to get married and get divorced again, I would use these chaps. Saying that, if I did have the money I would probably take the time from work, do a law degree conversion and then specialise in family law and still be better off (if I passed that is). Nice view from their meetings rooms too.
