DON'T USE THESE. Edward failed to do searches on a house purchase 3 years ago which we paid him to do. Now leaving us to sort it out and left with a hefty bill to pay. He is never available to talk to us or return our calls, the woman on reception is arrogant and very rude. She would end the call without saying by playing music down the phone. When I challenged her about this she told me to get her the sack if I wanted.she was probably his wife unprofessional.

Wrote a huge story detailing my experience I had with this solicitors and then deleted it, they are absolutely incompetent. Just useless

Jan has been nothing short of amazing, she has made the usually extremely stressful process of buying a house stress free by always keeping us up to date and dealing with the sale super quickly in a crazy time for conveyancers. We appreciate all of her help and hard work and would highly recommend using her for your conveyancing.

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness Terrible experience. Passed from one person to another, months on and the small job we needed has not been completed. They don't reply to emails or calls. Absolutely terrible. The positive reviews must be fake.

Richard helped us to do three conveyancing (1 residential, 1 re-mortgage and 1 commercial) so far, he is very helpful, professional and responsive. I would highly recommend him and looking forward to do further work with him.

Critical: Quality, Responsiveness, Value Initially it seemed so promising but communication was rare. And the hidden charges were extortionate. Initially they were cheap but after our deal was done they asked for an update and charged me for my email replies! Over 500 for three emails. And nothing was ever finalised with them. Be warned.

This is my third time using Abensons now and I will continue to use them for other services, in particular Jan Cook. She is always on the ball and is always one step ahead. She is the best in the business at what she does and nothing is ever too much for her. Thanks for all your help Jan. We will always recommend Jan and Abensons to our family and friends.

Awful behaviour from Richard Palfreyman. I would ring once a week to check in on if anything needed doing from our side (which there usually was so it was good I called), and then he started deliberately dodging my (still only once a week) calls. At one point the receptionist put me through and the I was bounced back, and they said "oh er he isn't in his office", when they'd told me he was 20 seconds before. Richard eventually got back to me and told me off like a child for "constantly calling" him.

He also hung up on me at another point. His behaviour was appalling, and after this point his emails were blunt and rude. These were just a couple of examples of times he acted like this. He also made us do all the mortage ringing round towards the end which he had said he would do, as he "didn't want the phone lines tied up". Buying a house is stresssful enough without the solicitor acting like this!

We used Abensons solicitors for the purchase of a house and the sale of a flat this year. We can't recommend them highly enough. Extremely responsive, professional and approachable.
