Gaby Hardwicke Solicitors is a leading Sussex law firm with offices in Eastbourne, Hailsham, Bexhill and Hastings. We provide a wide range of legal services for businesses and individuals. Dr Frederick Goodwin founded the firm in Hastings in 1889 and was joined in practice by Ralph Gaby three years later.

With five offices across four major East Sussex towns and a wide range of legal sectors, Gaby Hardwicke offers excellent potential for growth and progression throughout your career.Since 2000 we've trained more than 30 solicitors; 25 stayed with us after qualifying, and seven of our partners trained with the firm.
We offer two solicitor training contracts each year, starting in September. The contract involves either 3 or 4 seats in both contentious and non-contentious disciplines. Applications are always welcome, and appointments are made up to two years in advance of commencement. Our minimum academic requirements are a 2.1 degree, not necessarily in law, and a minimum of 128 UCAS points from 3 A levels, or the IB equivalent. Each year, the partners of Gaby Hardwicke donate part of their annual profits to the Gaby Hardwicke Foundation, a registered charity whose trustees use the funds to support and assist worthy local causes. In addition, donations have been made to individuals who have particular and often unique and challenging needs.

I have dealt with Gaby Hardwicke for many years involving different transactions, sale/ purchase of property and production of wills. I have principally dealt with Andrew Tress who is a delight to work with but all the staff with whom I had dealings were equally as efficient and helpful. Investigate other options. Recently used their services for a mortgage and I felt like my custom was unwanted due to; A) a lack of introduction by the second solicitor after the first left, B) a lack of communication about progress, C) a reluctance to communicate via email, and to top it off they even charged me 2.5% to use a credit card as part payment (something which I believe is illegal since December 2016). I don't like writing negative reviews but, others need to be made aware, and I hope some good comes from this.
