Services
Established as a niche commercial solicitors firm in 1986 by partners from City of London law firms, our lawyers are just 90 minutes from London by road or rail and 15 minutes from international flight connections. The firm has strength in depth in litigation of all types, aiming to make court, arbitration & mediation procedures work positively for clients.
Effective personal representation is in our experience what clients look for and this is the standard of legal service that we offer. Build on firm planning ground with expert and representation from our highly regarded team of planning solicitors and consultants. The process of administering the estate of a person who has died can be complex and confusing.
Commercial property legal work: shops, office leases, restaurants & bars, investment properties, industrial units, pub leases, nightclubs, hotels, leisure facilities, retail outlets, land for development, agricultural businesses & any other commercial property. This was a very comprehensive job on your part, done in a timely manner and on extremely short notice.
Chambers Guide 2017/18: Humphreys & Co. handles unfair dismissal and unlawful discrimination claims, disciplinary and other internal procedures, TUPE issues, and post-termination restrictions. The practice's caseload includes advocacy in a variety of employment tribunal claims and it has experience in acting in High Court, County Court and Employment Appeal Tribunal cases.
Tier 4 UK visa sponsorship for educational institutions (educational oversight and Tier 4 sponsor licence). The scale of migrants doing business in the UK is ever increasing. UK companies employing overseas workers are gradually morphing into something commonplace. As the immigration guidelines are ever-changing, it would certainly be prudent to ask experienced solicitors for legal advice to help you achieve your organisation's goals. We can help you ensure that all immigration matters are carried out correctly and effectively.

It's a minefield reading through reviews of conveyancing solicitors, who do you believe? I can definitely recommend Humphreys & Co, no hidden fees and to Bonny a massive thank you for all your hard work and diligence. The professionalism, patience and when needed reassurance you have provided throughout this journey has been very much appreciated.

Used Humphreys & Co for conveyancing (sale and onward purchase), having been very pleased with using them for a purchase in 2013. Price was much the same as others. Natasha was great and very thorough. May not be the fastest outfit but I never felt like anything was going to be missed and got the impression that everything was gone through with a fine-toothed comb.
They maybe lacked experience with dealing with weird leasehold properties in Sheffield but you can hardly blame a Bristol conveyancer for that. If I was still local, I would use again.

Natasha at Humphrey's & Co managed my shared ownership purchase and was absolutely amazing. She was efficient, thorough, quick to respond, and went above and beyond to get the purchase through after issues on the other side resulted in several months of delays. I was told so many horror stories about conveyancing solicitors but in this case these were thankfully completely unfounded, and I was so relieved to have someone so on the ball in my corner once things got complicated. Natasha chased in a timely manner, kept me in the loop, answered all my questions patiently, and generally made the other solicitor involved look utterly incompetent (which they were!).
The service was always outstanding, extremely good value and I will definitely be coming back to Humphrey's when I next move - which hopefully won't be for a long time yet. Thank you so much Natasha for all your work! : )

This firm is spot on. In particular I want to thank Tristan. They helped us on a few occasion with trademark issues and we could not have been happier. It seems that they worked out a system that helps their clients achieve success. I know my field fairly well and I know a few things that make my business successful and I think it is the same for this firm. They know exactly what helps their clients. I will hire the firm in the future.

I can't recommend Bronwen Stokes-Johnson enough. She has helped me with the purchase of 2 homes now (the latter being particularly difficult and taking around 8 months, due to no fault of her own). Bronwen replies before I've even sent my emails half the time she's so on the ball and always updates me (even if there is no update she will still be in contact!) from hearing some horror stories of other solicitors taking ages to respond and making mistakes half way through I feel so lucky to have found Humphrey's & Co / Bronwen and would highly recommend! Thank you so so much Bronwen!

I've used Humphreys & Co. Solicitors three times now for conveyancing (purchase - sale - purchase) and they have been great each time. Courtney Stone, in particular, has been outstanding. Courtney's level of communication, eye for detail and professionalism has been flawless; a credit to the team. A handful of friends and family have reported horror stories with other solicitor firms over the years but neither myself or partner would hesitate in recommending Humphreys & Co.'s services.

This is my fourth time using Humphreys solicitors for various property transactions and once again they have exceeded my expections. Hats off to Joshua Gladwin for always making him self availiable to me if I have concerns or need advice concerning the transaction in hand. Really proffesional solicitors that always make sure you're aware of everything going on. Thank you and see you again soon.

Why do I have to give a star? Had nothing but stress, frustration, disappointment and grief from our experience with Humpreys. Not going to mention any names as that wouldn't be fair. Seriously dire service. NEVER AGAIN. You charge enough money so you should be providing a SERVICE. If you are unable to take on new clients it would be nice if you could let them know beforehand rather than cancelling everything at the last minute and therefore making us lose our purchase.
Why can you not actually speak to clients on the phone? You can resolve so many issues like that. We only spoke to our solicitor ONCE in 3 months. Having dealt with solicitors in the past, they often phone regularly with updates or if they require more information. If you need to speak to them or have questions, you can speak to them on the phone etc. Ps In response to your reply we only had 2 telephone conversations in the 3 months or so that you were dealing with our case.
Only one of these was with the solicitor. We tried to speak to you many many times but were always told that the person "was not at their desk" and to email. Telephone conversations are really important especially when things get confused and confusing. We are still utterly confused as to why you pulled out at the last minute. In the email we received you said it was because you were short staffed due to covid!?A telephone conversation to explain matters would definitely have helped as it would throughout the process.

I've used Humphreys & Co for the purchase of two homes, sale of one and a house lease extension in West London. Each time they have been highly professional, responsive and provided prompt answers to numerous questions. I've also experienced them being much more legally informed and correct than other solicitors being used in a house sale chain, which was quite impressive.
I was also struct by how reasonable their fees were. Joshua at Humphreys was excellent at our last sale. I would use them again in the future and would have no concerns in recommending them to others. Highly recommended.

Humphreys & Co helped me through a recent house purchase and were excellent throughout. My purchase took place during one of the most difficult & challenging periods with Covid, stamp duty incentives and the general volume of transactions taking place but Lois from Humphreys & Co kept me informed and up to date of developments at every stage. I was very impressed with their professional manner throughout and in particular was delighted during the smooth and hassle free exchange and completion stages. I would certainly recommend Humphreys & Co.

My brother and I used Humphreys and Co for sale of a shared ownership stake in London that we jointly owned. Worth noting that we had a pretty woeful experience with a different solicitor during the purchase (recommended via the shared ownership website) so were hoping for a better experience with the sale. My partner was selling her own shared ownership at the same time which allowed me to compare the differences with a third solicitor firm. Humphreys were streets ahead of the others.
Right at the start they provided a lengthy email detailing the process, steps, and timelines. None of the others did, and it immediately meant we were better informed. The timelines inevitably slipped (they were a little optimistic from the start) but as far as I could tell, not because of Humphreys. Indeed, I think it was our solicitor keeping the pressure up on the buyers that meant we got the sale through.
Our solicitor did change mid-way through, but we found Bonny to be even more responsive and helpful than her predecessor. She responded very promptly to emails, and when we didn't understand something she took the time to explain. Honestly she made the process a lot smoother than it could otherwise have been, and for that I am immensely grateful. Clearly can't speak for the whole firm, but would very highly recommend Bonny, and would definitely use Humphreys again.
