I recently used Catterall's during a house sale and purchase. After having used other Conveyancing Solicitors in the West Yorkshire area on numerous previous occasions over the past ten years, in comparison, Catterall's were simply perfect unlike the others I've used who left a bitter taste through their issues. Working with Catterall's is, as you would expect these processes to be managed in an ideal world.

I dealt with Jenny who was assisted by Sarah, both were extremely professional but yet fully customer focussed in their approach, which when dealing with Solicitors can be the difference between feeling listened to and understood or just another source of revenue where the client doesn't matter. Full credit to Jenny and Sarah who managed my sale and purchase at a time when only days before the 2021 Stamp Duty holiday was about to come to an end, Solicitors were under extreme pressure like never before to close out exchanges and completions.

I chose Catterall's as when putting the house on the market, I researched Solictors in the area and looked closely at their reviews as, during the SDLT Holiday period, effectiveness and efficiency were the primary factors in choosing the right conveyancer to allow us to meet the deadline saving the stamp duty tax s. We completed on the 21st June 2021 with full credit to Jenny for her exnpertise and guidance through the entire process.

Every email responded to within minutes (I am not exaggerating at all, this literally was the case), all phone calls answered within seconds, no holding, no passing around the office and any queries or questions that Jenny or Sarah sent were clear and unambiguous. Catterall's were also one of the best value Solicitors offering this service. Lastly, when Estate Agents who've been around the block breathe a huge sigh of relief when you say you're dealing with Catteralls, that is the ultimate seal of approval.

Came across Catteralls via an online quotes website (Uswitch) and their price quote seemed reasonable. However I didn't count on 1. them sticking to around the number quoted and 2. delivering as efficient a service as they did. I was wrong. Final invoice was very close to what as quoted and the matter was dealt with very well. Paul Kininmonth was delightful and a pleasure to deal with. Was very patient with my questions and definitely knew his way around all aspects of the purchase. Emails were replied to reasonably quickly and I hardly had to chase.

I'd definitely use them again. I called them recently to speak to their Family Law department. Admittedly I was just making a quick inquiry initially and wanted a few minutes for free - perfectly reasonably request in my experience with solicitors. They put me through to a lady called Wendy who was one of the rudest people I have dealt with for some time. She seemed to think that politeness and courtesy was not necessary because I had asked for some time for free.

She was aggressive, arrogant and started interrupting me within 90 seconds when I was trying to give her the context of my query. I am speaking as somebody with extensive experience of being around solicitors in my professional life when I say that this lady was totally unprofessional in her dealings with me. The call ended when she suggested that I see her for a 50 consultation. "No thanks, " I responded. "I don't think we will get on. Goodbye" and I closed the call.

I then called another solicitors in Wakefield and spoke to somebody who was absolutely superb and who I could really imagine parting money to speak with if push came to shove. I just visited the Catteralls website because I was going to write privately to the Managing Partner (or similar person) but their website was down due to their bandwidth having been exceeded. Read into that what you want but I would not use this firm for anything, especially if I was hoping for somebody skillful in finding a resolution.

They have helped us to buy a new home and they did it successfully, they don't lack knowledge and expertise, however they were unproffesional and inaccurate. They have send us the "Declaration of trust" 3 times before they got the spelling correct. Additionally they rushed us every time we spoke with them. I wouldn't recommend it.
