Progression Solicitors

We engaged Progression solicitors to sell our business in Cumbria and a few weeks later, engaged a local solicitor to purchase our new house in Lancashire.

Whilst we had complaints about the service we received, many of which we put in writing during the process, their actions on completion day were disastrous!

Progression solicitors refused to pay into the chain for the purchase, insisting that all of the money had to be transferred to our personal account first - despite our concerns that this would cause delays.

On completion day, they informed us that they were transferring the money to our personal account at 11.48am but failed to do so. After many frantic phone calls the money was eventually transferred after 3pm and it reached our account after 5pm. This caused the whole chain to collapse – a nightmare for all concerned.

To date, we have received no explanation or apology for this totally avoidable situation.

Toke 500 deposit at beginning of the registration which was fair enough. Then billed me agien after everything was payed off. Tried everything to not give my deposit back. charged me over 300 for asking them something over the phone which was a 1 min conversation, and this conversation was only after the case was closed. And said because i asked them somthing after my case was resolved they had to charge me for this.

Well if i would have know you will charge me i wouldn't have asked you. And because they where holding my 500 i couldn't do anything. Soo avoid them please they will try everything to take more money out of you. Avoid avoid avoid!

I went here to make my will and also to complete some quite complicated documents. Pamela Horobin, who I saw, explained things very clearly. She made sure that what went in the will was what I wanted, explaining the effect each element would have. When I got the bill I did not feel ripped off which is one of the things that I had been concerned about. (solicitors don't have a good reputation, in general)
