We can trace our history back over 400 years and today, as FDC Law, we continue to go from strength to strength. We provide expert advice to both private and commercial clients about a wide range of legal issues, with each solicitor and legal advisor having their own specialist knowledge. We continue to offer a professional, specialist service combined with a personal and friendly approach.
In accordance with SRA requirements, we aim to provide guidance about likely costs for certain types of work. Please note that the information here is a guide to show the normal range of costs for different kinds of work. Except where a fixed fee is agreed, the actual costs in your case may be lower, or higher, that those set out below, depending on your specific needs and the details of the work you ask us to carry out, .
We have a long tradition of supporting the communities in which we operate and live and the majority of our partners and staff live within 5 miles of one of our offices. We have an active programme of sponsorship and support for local organisations and initiatives. Any request for support or sponsorship should be made in writing to our Office Manager, Shirley Ford.
In accordance with SRA guidance, FDC Law collects and publishes data relating to the diversity of our partners and staff. We do not publish data which might enable individuals to be identified. The data is collected anonymously and on a voluntary basis from our partners and staff. On this occasion, around 55% of staff chose to complete the survey.

We needed a solicitor to witness a deed poll for name change and were told we could do this at FDC. We were greeted in an appointment by solicitor Emma Williams rudely- were told that she 'doesn't do these', yet she huffed her way through a 1 minute appointment, and we were charged 15 for 3 signatures. She was unbelievably arrogant and ruined what was meant to be a celebratory event for our child. 3 months later and we have had the deed poll returned- rejected because her stamp was faulty and she neglected to print her name with her signature.
If this isn't a service the solicitors are happy to carry out then we should have been told this on making the appointment, and we'd have happily gone elsewhere. What a shambles- never again.

Michael Coward acted for us in the sale and purchase of properties. His communication throughout the process was excellent and he was thorough and prompt with all paperwork and replies.
