I had agreed with the firm to stick a limit of 1400 and stop and alert me, they chose to ignore that and ran up a 17k and are now taking legal action against me, despite confirming in their complaint that they failed to correctly stop and alert me. I had been given a fee for the case management hearing of about 1200, and it turned out to be just under 17k it seems.

I have logged it with the Legal Ombudsman and asked them to wait for that, they refuse to and have put it into the high court to chase me for costs that I did not nor would have agreed to. I would not recommend this firm at all, they then have bullied me and treated me totally appallingly. And this with a solicitor who I have never met due to the pandemic and when I suggested to do a video intro, he refused.

Despite it being their solicitor who failed to correctly do things and it left me feeling suicidal and they still proceeded to threaten me as they don't care, they are bullies. Their values in their website say "no surprise bills". yet when they do have that, they treat me in this way. Avoid at all costs is my advice. Very very poorly treated.

Vicki from the Private Client team is an absolute star. I recently called for a quote on a will and powers of attorney for my husband and myself, and she explained everything quickly and succinctly but still with attention to detail, telling me about extra third party charges that other solicitors I called didn't mention, and was so warm as well. A credit to the company.

I emailed her boss telling him how well she did, but haven't heard anything back - I hope she gets the credit and the recognition she deserves, because she is an asset to them.

I recently used these solicitors and others locally to get a feel for a case. I did like what the solicitor had to say, however I don't feel I got value for money compared to other local solicitors, especially as they don't have a fixed introduction fee and go off on tangents and charge you for the privilege.
