I have dealt with many law firms over the last 45 years both small and large and never had cause to complain. However, I would advise everyone to avoid this lot like the plague. Having continually fobbed me off and blatantly lied to me on 2 occasions within a month of my having instructed them to perform a simple task, they should be struck off. They are a disgrace to the legal profession.

Contacted Toby Burrough on 14th January regarding needing a conveyancing solicitor was told his colleague would take on my case and would be in touch it's now the end of March and I'm still waiting. Very very disappointing

I switched to Burroughs, as i felt I wasn't getting anywhere with my previous solicitors, who I'd been with nearly a year. I knew after my initial call with Leigh-Anne I knew I had made the right decision. I felt confident throughout the whole financial and divorce proceedings and had full trust in Leigh-Anne to get the matter resolved on my behalf.

She provided great, honest and fair advice throughout and completed my divorce in 8 months (Despite being in a pandemic, over Christmas, awkward Ex wife, backlog.) It's such a massive weight off me having this concluded. Thanks again Leigh-Anne, I really appreciate your help.

I first engaged these solicitors in August 2018 to act on my behalf in a petition for divorce against me. The divorce was complicated by the fact that my ex-wife and had shared responsibility for our granddaughter. The decree nisi was straight forward but the financial settlement in respect of provision for our granddaughter was fraught with difficulties. However, the service provision from the solicitors and the litigation assistant was exceptional in their advice, empathy and support.

The Covid-19 infection did present difficulties with reliance on emails or the telephone. However, the process was finally completed by July this year. Was it good value for money? Legal processes can be expensive if they are complicated and I did get good advice to my benefit. Yes I would be more than happy to recommend this firm and use them again. As the process was so long an element of friendship developed and I am almost sad that the case is now closed.

I have just completed my house purchase with Burroughs and I cannot recommend them enough! They have been swift and professional in all matters, keeping me fully informed and up to date at all stages of the process. Sue Tuffley and Elizabeth Lynott-Jones have been an absolute dream team and a pleasure to work with.

Very poor experience with toby after instructing him to represent me with a legal matter a year ago. Had difficulty arranging a time with cancellations/ incompatible schedules between all 3 parties. Which is fine, this happens. However was surprised to see him message on my behalf saying I am "burying my head in the sand" and suggesting tougher action to be taken.

A professional lawyer or solicitor would contact the client first, confirm the reasons why dates could not be arranged before jumping to conclusion and attacking his own client, instead of actually representing their best interests. I wouldn't trust this guy to actually represent you, I feel that he represents his own interests only. Needless to say, once the he exposed himself in a forwarded email from the 3rd party, I replaced him with a respected and dependable barrister, the case was very promptly resolved with better outcome than toby thought was remotely possible.

The meeting was arranged promptly, the barrister literally managed everything from start to finish and liased directly with the 3rd party, copying me in to all communications. Granted it was more expensive than toby, but far less expensive than allowing toby to sabotage this case. When I forwarded the emails to the barrister, even they were surprised with how he handled the situation.

Its not all bad, If you have nothing to lose and nothing to gain, go for toby, he is a very good waffler. He will make friends with the 3rd party at your expense but will assure you its only to 'win them over'. Hollywood style tactics. Very interesting approach. If you are looking for someone to actually represent your best interest, represent you in your best light and handle your problem (rather than escalate it) and advise you optimally I can't personally recommend this individual at all. In hindsight, I should have expected nothing more.

I have found the solicitors to be friendly, approachable and very knowledgeable. i have used their services on 2 occasions over the last few years and i would be happy to recommend them to any of my friends, family or business associates. When ever i have made contact i have been dealt with in a courteous and friendly manner by Susan, and i have always been called back quickly by one of the solicitors. Nice to see a company with all of the knowledge i need, without any "stuffiness" - straight to the point!
