If I could give zero stars, I would. I was put in touch with MHL via Homeward Legal in mid-2021. At first, my solicitor was helpful and seemed to be getting things sorted (albeit slowly but I appreciated it was a busy time). However, in February of 2022 I became increasingly worried that I'd yet to have confirmation for the solicitors that it had all gone through.

When I finally heard from one of the team, they told me that HMLR had delayed the process and I'd hear from them when it was done. I contacted them a couple of months late after being asked by my ex partner why he'd not received confirmation that everything was completed - to this I was met with radio silence. I called and emailed and was getting nowhere, so decided to chase HMLR myself, only to find out that they had not been responded to either and were about to cancel my transfer of equity.

At this point we were 10 months into the process and I was absolutely beside myself over the potential knock on effect this could have with my ex partner. To date, I have still heard absolutely nothing from MHL. I find it absolutely disgusting and I truly hope that anyone reading this review thinks twice before using them - they shouldn't be allowed to practice law/offer legal services.

Unfortunately I am unable to give any lower rating or I would. We instructed Marshall Hall & Levy to purchase a property for us. It was a cash buy, so no mortgage, no searches and no chain it took them 10 months to complete. That was only down to me having to push it along every step of the way. The sale nearly fell through several times as the seller was so fed up of waiting. Vicky was non existant and would never return your calls and on more than one occasion instructed their secretary not to put our calls through.we complained several times to the partners, who again failed to get a grip of the process, the word incompetence is not strong enough to describe this company, unfortunately I didn't do my homework had I done and read the reviews first I would never have chose them, it is clear that my experience is not a one off. Please please avoid this company, to avoid the frustration and anger we experienced.

Our case started in April 2021 and is still not complete. I am buying my fathers house off him, so no chains involved. There have been complications along the way but nothing to justify the delay and terrible service we have received. We initially used them as they were linked with our financial advisor and we wanted to keep things simple, however they are now that bad that the financial advisor no longer uses them and has had to chase them repeatedly to no avail.

I am now resorting to emailing every email address I can find as I've sent 3 emails this week and not one has been answered. I am now receiving auto replies from agents saying they are leaving and have not been reassured that our case is going to be handled by someone else. Do not use this solicitors. Absolutely ridiculous. Will be reporting to the financial ombudsman.

Just for context I had no children when we started this, and I now have a 3 month old and our second mortgage offer has just expired, at a time when interest rates are now astronomical.

Avoid this firm like the plague. In 32 years of dealing with property in a professional capacity I have never experienced such an awful company. Emails and phone calls never returned, rude reception staff who state that their policy is not to provide Estate Agents with progression updates.

I was dealing with Viki Logan during my house purchase process (I was a First Time Buyer) - I genuinely couldn't fault anything about his service and everything was made so straightforward from the get go. I had friends and colleagues around that time that had told me horror stories about how long their conveyancer was taking and the lack of communication, which makes me even more pleased that I chose Marshall Hall Levy to do my legal work.

I was kept updated every step of the way, everything was explained clearly and never felt any concern at any point - everything was responded to promptly, and even an unexpected last minute change to my mortgage product was dealt with very swiftly and professionally. I couldn't have been more delighted with how easy everything felt for what I'm sure is normally a very stressful process - thank you Viki! I would have no hesitation whatsoever in using Marshall Hall Levy again for any future transactions!

I would seriously advise individuals to not use Marshall Hall Levy's conveyancing service for the following reason: - On numerous occasions the information that was sent to the solicitors was not acted upon and delayed my property transaction by around 3-4 weeks. - Lack of communication skills. The solicitor left work early on the day of completion even whilst facing the possibility of not being able to complete and being homeless for the weekend. Emails were sent on the day of completion, integral to the follow through of completion, and nothing was mentioned during phone calls. - After requesting to have a non-simultaneous exchange and completion (to which seemed to fall upon deaf ears) I was then told by another member of staff around 3:30 on the day of completion that funds had not yet hit their account therefore it's unlikely that the transaction would go through on the day, whilst all my belongings were sitting in a removal van on the side of the road. - More than three weeks after the transaction completed I have been chased by HMRC and my estate agents (which I sold my previous property through) as Marshall Hall Levy had not set up the fee with them and not paid the relevant bodies, even though I settled my itemised bill including payment of fees for estate agents and stamp duty prior to completion.

Lots of stress involved which could easily have been avoided if they had their house in order. I totally understand and appreciate that the property market is very busy at the moment however if you can't provide that service to an adequate standard then do not take on new clients. I've given them 1 star on the basis that it isn't possible to give them 0.

Awful experience. Viki never came back to any communications. There is NO level of customer service. Due to the incompetence of the company the purchase of a freehold was never completed, I luckily found out years later when the remortgage was due.after however loosing huge sums of money and going through a lot of stress to rectify it. I raised a official complaint to Keith, who entirely ignored it and the follow up. Have since gone to the ombudsman. Pay a bit more and stay well clear.

Myself and my wife have recently instructed Marshall Hall Levy to deal with our first purchase in forty years. Viki and Kimberley helped us enormously through the process. Highly recommended.

John W. helped us with the purchase of our property, which was done in a timely manner. But we didn't get any update through the process, and we could never get hold of him by phone or email, which was very frustrating for us, for the seller and for the estate agents. Few months after we purchased the property and moved in they realised there was some outstanding payment to be made and some more paperwork to do.

We have paid the requested amount, but we still aren't sure if this is complete. We have chased MHL for an update, but again, we aren't getting any response. Just hoping everything it's OK.

Mr turnbull has been honest & great support throughout my family court case matter. Always returned calls within a reasonable time. Fantastic, highly recommended.

Avoid. We used them for the sale and purchase of property. Viki was unresponsive to communication.weeks would go by without responding to emails and phone calls, with no updates as promised. When work was completed it was done to a good standard but there was still outstanding issues which caused multiple delays in completing. Two months on from completing there are still documents outstanding and surprise surprise, Viki does not respond to queries!

They might be cheap but if you value your sanity and want things resolved quickly, go elsewhere. I could honestly list at least 10 more issues we had with them, including lying and withholding funds but I'll save that for the formal complaint that will be submitted to the Ombudsman!

Took 4 months to do a simple change of lender. They wanted to charge 30 for transferring my balance to my bank account! Opted for a cheque, got a first cheque for a third of the balance "by mistake", they kept the reminder of my money on their accounts for 3 more weeks! They may be cheap, but in the end cost me more because I had to pay my old lender for 3 more months than expected. AVOID

I needed a will doing pretty fast as my wife was very poorly at home with cancer. I contacted Marshall Hall Levy and was contacted by Lisa. She came to my house the next day to take our details, , and had the draughts done in 2 day's with a 2nd home vist. I couldn't have asked for such a short turnaround for which Lisa did for me and my wife, she was amazing. Thanks Lisa.

Viki helped me through a very tough time and I cannot thank her, Kimberley and Bradley enough for all of their compassion and assistance. They were brilliant and I am very grateful.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness Absolutely shocking. Days pass after being told a two minute call back. Could not get the work completed or emailed, don't believe the work was even done. I would completely avoid. Only put in touch with these through Homeward Legal- will avoid both.
