The process of buying a home was made all the more cumbersome and stressful by using this company. The information I received regarding the purchase of the property, was only received through the estate agents and the vender's solicitors. On 3 separate occasions I was told the report had been prepared and sent to me and it hadn't been. I had to wait an extra 2 weeks solely because they had forgotten to order the funds.
The whole process lacked organisation and was haphazard. The receptionist gave me more information and was more approachable than the solicitor representing the purchase with email replies received weeks later. In all sincerity, I am unable to recommend this company

Ellie and the guys at Sampson Coward have been BRILLIANT. Ellie had a tough job dealing with another party that wasn't very responsive during an incredibly busy time (stamp duty holiday) and she was faultless, always responded when emailed, gave us great advice and resolved any issues as quickly as possible. They acted for us on a house purchase. They day before we were due to exchange they become unresponsive. I finally managed to speak to one of the partners and he said that they weren't able to follow through with the exchange. The chain subsequently collapsed effecting 7 other parties. No reason was ever given. It was an unbelievably stressful situation for my family and I and an experience I have to share.

Used this firm to write our wills. Found the service incredibly professional, very efficient and very timely. Cannot recommend Jess Johnston highly enough. She explained the legal jargon in understandable terms to us, and helped us future-proof our will. Her advice was understandable and allowed us to make an informed decision about various choices, relevant to our assets.
She put thought into ensuring our will is relevant for us now and in future to save us having to re-write it later in our lives. The service was friendly, reasonably priced and would definitely use the firm in future.

I had the worst experience with this firm. I asked them to act for me and they were slow to return my all my calls. After I instructed them they said they couldn't locate documents I'd sent them and it's my belief they didn't keep my information confidential. Eventually I went to complain to the Senior partner and he never returned my call. Awful.

We used Whitehead for a purchase attempt on a residential property. Everything was progressing smootly until the day before exchange when our solicitor became non contactable. After a day and a half of frantic phone calls to the firm our call was finally taken by a senior partner who would only say that they were unable to complete the sale and didnt have to provide any further reason.
This resulted in our property sale and chain collasping and a huge amount of stress for multiple parties. Luckily we found a new solicitor and property and completed 6 months later. This experience is one I am obliged to share.
