Avoid at all costs, the seller of my property used them. It was a simple sale with no chain and it took 5 months. On the day to exchange and send funds Curtis Law said they didn't have the qualified solicitor in on that day to see the transaction through and that it would have to wait until the following week. My solicitor was absolutely gob smacked and in her 20 years of business she says this just NEVER happens and she couldn't believe what she was hearing from them. Please, please, please, moving house is stressful enough, please don't let these clowns be any part of it.

Very poor service. I used them for conveyancing and they did not care about my transaction. Nothing ever got done without me helping and chasing. Their website says 98% of clients would recommend them. That is a lie. They should be very very careful on how this data is collected because anyone I ha e spoken to who used them gives them 0 stars and would never use them again.

If I could give no stars I would.never send updates i had to constantly chase. They was keep saying they going to start court proceedings but never did. I complaint to ombudsman and soon after that they closed my case. Cowboys please do not use them

Maddison Clegg was my solicitor for both buying and selling my house, 12 months apart. She was lovely to deal with, always very polite and informative over the phone and stayed in touch with any important updates. My house sale did take longer than expected, however I don't feel that Curtis Law played a role in this, and it was instead due to various other delays in the system. I would definitely go to Maddie again if purchasing a house in the future - Thank you!

Why didn't I read these reviews before I used them?! As so many other reviews below state they are terrible. Awful service, non responsive and just in general a really really poor experience. 14 weeks later and still not completed on my house. I have no idea how they've got 4 stars. I reckon a lot of false reviews to bring it up. Have commenced a formal complaint but even then its not getting progressed.

Avoid these people at any cost maybe you save few hundred pounds but the amount of stress they will give you it's not worth at all these people don't answer the phone if send email it will take over a week to reply no professionalism

I am not the type of person to usually leave a review but feel compelled to do so as a kindness to anyone who may be considering using this firm. Please look at all the other reviews that have been left as I can only echo these. The people who work here are incompetent and have no care or respect for their clients whatsoever. You will never get hold of anyone on the telephone and they will NEVER call you back.

They will lose your paperwork, leave your file to languish for weeks/months and spin themselves in spirals with their own lies. They ignore complaints procedures and your money is not secure with them as they allowed their systems to be infiltrated by scammers and did not even seem concerned regarding this. The only way to get any movement is to visit the office and refuse to leave which I had to do many times. I wish I'd paid triple the amount charged as the stress of dealing with this firm was not worth it. Pay peanuts and you will get monkeys.

AVOID! These solicitors were used by our vendors. I can only echo the other reviews on here. Everyone from our solicitors, estate agents and vendors themselves constantly contacted curtis law, only to be completely ignored or given false information. Our completion took SIX MONTHS, and even on completion day, we hadn't even exchanged until 1PM and eventually completed close to 4PM.

This obviously caused a massive amount of stress on the day, not even knowing if we would complete based on the past behaviour of this awful firm. If we ever decided to sell again and i saw either our buyers or vendors were using Curtis Law Solicitors, i would either ask them to change solicitors or i would pull out!

ZERO STARS For the love of god don't use these clowns, from start to finish they gave me nothing but stress, don't reply to emails, don't answer the phones, don't keep you updated, took NINE MONTHS to complete a house purchase. Do yourself a favour and put your hand in your pocket and pay more money for a proper firm, I know I certainly will be in the future! Totally unprofessional and utterly disgusting attitudes from the people I dealt with, awful service. How they are still operating beggars belief

Niamah the Nightmare incompetent and liars Our buyer used them and it took over 6 months to complete from accepting the offer. Our solicitor and estate agent struggled to get updates from them. They review files every 3 weeks at very best. They lied to the their client! once stating that the lender wouldn't proceed when it was actually them not wanting to act (mortgage adviser confirmed this).

They scare mongered our buyer with the search results and enquiries. if the first time buyer purchasing our property wasn't in direct contact with us she would have never got any updates or understood the process. pretty sure our buyer only spoke to her actual solicitor twice in 6 months. When our buyer persistently called as she wasn't getting any updates the assistant told her stop calling and let them do their job. no customer service skills. buying a house is stressful enough you don't need these cowboys making it worse

Avoid at all costs! If I could give 0 stars I would! My buyer used this firm as his solicitors. Never dealt with such lazy, incompetent, ill mannered and uncaring individuals. Offer went in in February 2021. The buyer needed the completion to be done by June as his contract on his rental would be up. His firm knew and agreed this was plenty of time. Spent February to June being completely ignored, they lied about paperwork they already had trying to blame either my solicitors or myself for hold ups despite proof they already had receipt of documentation needed to complete.

In the end my solicitor, my estate agent, myself and the buyer were begging this firm to complete on the property but all they did was ignore every email and every call. Even hanging up on their own customer and black listing his number. They purposefully made their own customer homeless due to their incompetence and unwillingness to complete on several occasions with no good reason.

We eventually completed on August 27th 2021, after the buyer had had to travel to the Blackburn office to make complaints in person the week before. And even then they completed at 4:55pm waiting until the last second purposefully. The firm managers, complaints manager and owner are all as bad. All ignored emails, calls and couldn't care less. Buyer was homeless and sofa surfing for weeks on end and they cost myself the seller over 4K in monies. They got their kicks out of hearing us both beg and cry at them to do their job. DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value I wish I had read the reviews before instructing them. We are suppose to be moving tomorrow we requested that they exchange a few days before I have then found out at 4:30pm they are unable to exchange because funds have not been confirmed. So despite instructing them to exchange before the completion this will now.not happen.

Awful experience with this firm DO NOT RECOMMEND, has taken up to 2 months to get any response, estate agency struggled themselves to receive any type of response from these. When finally contact where very unprofessional on the phone and have continued to be unresponsive despite many emails sent. Do not recommend at all, very very slow progress and it's been 6 months now and have not made any progression with moving home. Absolutely shocking service

Awful service should avoid if you actually want anything doing. A simple house buying process took 8 months to complete! The partners of the firm do not care about the service given and if their clients are happy or not.

Critical: Quality Absolutely Awful. Were ridiculously bad at getting back to me, different people handling the conveyancing and in the end I had to pay for a 2nd valuation of the property because they took that long. Mine was a straight forward sale and as I knew the seller, I knew there were no hold ups.

LExcellent service. David Hughes was my contact solicitor, who helped guide me through my claim. Always telephoned me to keep upto date with everything and always explained in detail the information that was sent in the post in plain English. I would highly recommend Curtis Law Solicitors.
