Nobody instructs lawyers lightly but when they do they need to believe that the lawyer will listen, understand their concerns and provide sound advice in a pragmatic way based on years of experience to bring the matter to a conclusion as swiftly as is practicable. We believe that our mixture of youth and experience fulfils that need on the part of clients. With over 150 years providing a high quality and efficient legal service in Chester we are confident we deliver to those standards.

Our staff continue to work flexibly, with a mix of home and office working, but remain fully contactable and accessible wherever they are working from. Our approach to communication remains flexible and is tailored to the needs and wishes of our clients, with meetings available by phone and video call as well as in person.
We are proud of who we are, what we do and why we do it. You may have a good idea of who we are and the type of work we undertake, but may not know 'why do we do it?' Put simply, our why is you. Everything we do is in the pursuit of excellence, for your success, benefit and wellbeing. Everything stems from our fantastic ethos and culture, which breeds self-development, job satisfaction and comradery.
The cut and thrust of business law is both technically challenging and personally nuanced, whether brokering deals, negotiating terms or settling disputes. In order to meet these demands Jolliffes has five distinct and specialist business law departments which provide experience and expertise in equal measure.
Our Personal law teams provide a tailored, boutique approach to your unique circumstances - helping you through potentially stressful or even painful times in your life with care and sensitivity. Each one of our specialist departments can be relied upon to offer not only good legal advice, but also the care and attention to detail that your situation demands.
Jolliffes is pleased to announce the arrival of Marie Proud as a partner and head of the Family law department. With news of Bill and Melinda Gates 27-year marriage failing and their financial negotiations hitting the press and a judicial criticism of 86-year-old Frederick Barclay - the previous owner of the Telegraph and the Ritz for "reprehensive behaviour" during his divorce battle with his wife of 34 years, there is much debate on whether a long marriage is more likely to hit the buffers than a shorter lived legal union.

We needed formal clothing for a black tie event and we knew about the reputation that Jolliffes have. The service was professional and courteous and the whole experience was hassle free. It was also good value for the service provided. We will certainly use Jolliffes again if we need formal wear in the future.

I called to find out if they had a belt for a kilt as I left mine in a London Hotel last year. They disposed of the belt rather than inform me to arrange pick up or delivery. Allan, who answered the phone was extremely helpful and within minutes he had checked his stock to confirm the size and type that i required. Very impressed by this level of service that I thought we had a long time ago lost.
