Collaborative Lawyer

Collaborative law offers clients a different approach to settle their disputes within family law.
It requires clients to agree to resolve their dispute collaboratively, which means agreeing they will not use the courts to resolve their dispute whilst efforts to negotiate are underway.
Both clients must use a collaboratively trained lawyer.
Negotiations are conducted using 4-way meetings in which both clients and lawyers are present. The aim is to openly resolve disputes so that both parties feel they have achieved the best outcome possible for themselves and their family, whilst at the same time avoiding the cost and uncertainty of court action.
