Services
Conveyancing can be very complex and it generally isn't as straight forward as the TV programmes would like us to believe. The key is to ensure that our clients understand what's going on at all stages and have the ability and facility to have their queries and concerns answered by a real person, not just a lawyer.
During the mid 1990s the firm continued to grow. The partners identified the benefits of moving away from the "general practice" high street firm approach and specialising in certain key areas of law. Specialising gives a greater degree of knowledge and expertise whilst at the same time allowing investment in systems and processes to maximise service to our client whilst keeping our prices highly competitive. The firm opened an office in Sheffield in 1998 to service the needs of a large insurance client.
Harvey is responsible for PM Law's Wills & Probate, Employment, Civil Litigation & CQS accredited Property teams. Harvey is a member of the Law Society Property & Private Client Sections and is committed to ensuring clients receive a seamless, straight-forward, quality service. Jon is responsible for finance, HR, administration and facilities within PM Law as well as managing special projects.
PM Law solicitors in Sheffield are a leading personal injury firm which has provided a first rate service to injured victims of non-fault accidents for more than 20 years. If you have had an accident that wasn't your fault you may be able to claim personal injury compensation. Although the amount of compensation for each injury varies dramatically, we can give you an approximate estimate of the amounts that are commonly awarded for different types of injury.Keep 100% of your compensation.
We don't spend a fortune on advertising and we're very careful with our money so we don't need to take a success fee deduction from your damages*. Most solicitors, who may advertise a 'No Win, No Fee' service, charge their clients a success fee of up to 25% of the damages awarded. Solicitor "success fees" are no longer recoverable from a losing defendant, as they were in the past.

Horrendous firm! I am a director of an estate agents and our buyers used tis firm. They dont respond to any calls, emails and send you round to a 'TEAM' to deal with matters, the vendors solicitor of this particular property also had extremely poor communication throughout the sale which took months longer due to their terrible communication! Avoid!

You are very difficult to contact 1 hour+ on hold. At times it felt we had to do all the chasing due to pressure from buyers solicitors where they couldn't make contact with you. Your staff are always off sick so it's impossible to contact them + nobody seems to take on the sick persons cases. Some people who answer the phones are very rude as if we are the problem.

You also lost us our house 4 weeks before completion due to poor communication and how slow you are which now means we're living with parents until the next house goes through otherwise we would of lost our buyer. Would not recommend you to anyone. Would recommend you stop taking on too many cases at one time because you clearly can't cope.

Long story short- Avoid these solicitors, it's not even worth the risk unless you don't mind potentially loosing the property and forking out extra money on things that could have been completely avoided. Absolutely incompetent law firm and I would advise people to avoid at all costs. I am still yet to finalise on the property I am purchasing. The solicitors were instructed August 31st 2021, there was no chain so a straight forward purchase.

I am dealing with team Bashir (Reed and Haroon) who I am being constantly fobbed off by, I've had every excuse under the sun when trying to get in contact from on their lunch, to annual leave - not to mention the fact that it takes around 20-30 minutes on average for them to even answer a call. My mortgage offer was extended twice, and I've had to make a whole new mortgage application costing me yet more money.

The solicitors blame everyone and everything else rather than taking responsibility for their own actions. They don't chase things up as they should and im left with hardly any communication. It wasn't until I threatened to report them did they actually respond to my emails properly, although they seem to avoid the point of all questions. I am lucky enough to be In communication with the seller, and we have exchanged some details one if which being that PM law actually lied her solicitors about when they were reviewing the responses to outstanding enquiries. Yes, I am a first time buyer and I feel like because of this they think I'm an idiot and can just fob me off - well this isn't the case. Im honestly ashamed to say that I put my trust in this law firm, yes their prices are very competitive but there is a clear reason for that.

I was silly enough to use PM law and am now at risk of loosing mine, and my family's dream home all due to the absolute inability of PM Law being able to do their jobs properly.

I'm dealing with a sale at the moment and the first time buyer at the bottom of the chain is using PM Law. Their purchase should be ready, but the file has been waiting to be signed off for nearly 4 weeks now (presumably they have one solicitor and then multiple departments/teams feeding in to that one solicitor). All that needs to happen is for the first time buyer to be told how much deposit monies to pay, the mortgage monies to be requested and then we can complete.

It has taken 4 months to get to this point. Sure the first time buyers transaction at the bottom of the chain is the thing that should be ready first, after all it was the first sale in the chain to be agreed? If you have come as far as this and then you still chose to use a company that is extremely slow, that is your own choice.

Stay away please. PM Law solicitors/PM Law property Lawyers = SAME COMPANY. I wouldn't know where to start : we've almost lost our property twice and the whole process has just been horrendous and extremely stressful with PM Law (Team Bashir). They seem to be the absolute worst you can find (the reason why they're so cheap probably). If I had known I would have paid another conveyancers much more but we unfortunately got redirected with them thru Home Legal Direct and had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.

Property has been reserved since May 2021, we still have not moved and don't know when we will be. ATE has been issued from 14th April and still no exchange to this date 26th April with them knowing the emergency of our case and after having passed 3 deadlines given by our Developers. Being young people, getting our first property and having a certain amount gifted has probably not helped our case as we have clearly not been taken seriously from the very beginning.

These people are untrustworthy when they are supposed to be dealing with confidential paperwork and crucial information. Please do not give your money to them, I feel terrible enough having wasted mine. The good reviews must be coming from people they know or people that are buying very valuable properties. I don't even know how this firm is still out there opened to clients and functioning as if they are even capable of offering this type of services.

We are currently buying a property through them. Stay away people! They never answer their phones or messages. They tell you they haven't received things when they have. They tell you they will send you things by a certain day and they don't. We may loose our property because they just won't move and put the work in but they don't care. STAY AWAY!

Completely incompetent! That was the feeling I got dealing with this "organisation". It took over 7 months to sell my property to the tenant, no chain, no complications, just a simple transfer of ownership from landlord to tenant. Even at the very last minute, they asked questions that shpuld have be confirmed at the begining of the process, including confrimation of sewage access?! Signing and resigning documentation because of their blatant inability, incompetence, and/or lack of interest, not giving full details as to what was required, asking to resign documents but not add the date?! NEVER USE THIS PLACE! That is the advice I wpuld give to any of my friends and family, or honestly, just anyone I speak to needing to sell a house.

Shocking company. They are cheap and there is a very good reason for this. My sale/purchase took forever with my solicitor blaming everybody else rather than taking any responsibility. On the agreed completion date I was told at 4pm that completion was not going to happen. Vans were all loaded and ready to collect keys but it was blocked due to the funds not being in place for some reason.

So had to spend the night sleeping on the floor of an empty house. Did eventually get the keys the following day due to some exceptional circumstance agreement, but was told that if funds weren't sorted on the Monday I would have to return to my old house with all my belongings! Luckily they did manage to sort it out on the Monday. I made an official complaint and I was offered 250 in compensation. If you want cheap and nasty then go for this company but if you want things doing properly then spend a bit more money.

Stay away! If I could give zero stars I would. This company has zero ethics and zero knowledge of the regulations! Sale of my flat was assigned to an assistant and they questioned certification which was issued to current standards, ignoring evidence of guidance issued by RICS. They prolonged the process by at least 3 months and not even acknowledged my complaint or how they messed up the whole process, let alone compensating me for the loss i suffered due to their negligence. All they came up with were poor excuses to apologise and provide compensation for the nearly 2,000 I lost because of them. How do you cowboys sleep at night?

Absolutely terrible, criminally negligent at best. Thoroughly corrupt at worse. Actively sabotage clients claims on order to derail claims, mislead clients and ultimately destroy their claims. that is my experience.

Fantastic lawyers. Always keep you updated, so much so that I felt like I was Melanie's only client. They want to conclude your case as much as you do. The best thing was they are so professional that they knew I had a case, even when my own trade union solicitors said I didn't have one. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, they were always on it. I can't rate them highly enough. They will be the only lawyers that I ever recommend.

AVOID THIS COMPANY - Absolutely awful service. They have delayed our complete chain from completing for more than 1 week purely due to not signing off release of the exchange. We were told it was waiting a senior solicitor sign off and it was all on his desk - after 1 week of daily chasing, the complete chain had to return mortgage funds, loose removals deposits and change moving dates - No explanation, no apology, no communication. Disgusting Service

I will not be removing this review as I have placed 3 formal complaints with no satisfactory responses. Reece Suter, please call us, or better yet, Harvey Harding. My partner and I were placed with PM Property Lawyers by the Moving Hub/Home Legal Direct (third party who are now not sending clients to the firm due to our experience) on the 5/7/21. It wasn't until 16/08/21 that we actually got placed with a solicitor due to the onboarding team failing to hand over to other members of staff whilst they were on annual leave.

We were placed with a solicitor- Haroon Bashir- who we were promised contact from within 24hrs of being placed. Haroon did not place this call until 27/09/21 (our first formal complaint must've prompted him). Getting through to Haroon is a battle. His assistant Hannah Else always found every excuse to divert our call. We had stopped emailing them for updates at this point as we were never getting responses via email in the early stages. Haroon's main aim on the phone was/is to get rid of us and not give us an opportunity to question him- often complaining that the time he was spending on the phone with us was time wasted as he could've been "working on our case." Ironically, every time we phoned him in early October, it seemed as though he was only looking at our file for the first time- extremely frustrating when you entrust your first home purchase with someone you believe would be diligent.

Fast forward, after weeks of pressing and 3 formal complaints later, we were finally in a position to proceed with our exchange of contracts as well as completion. We were promised a completion date of 12/11/21. The team had all been informed that we were going to be homeless from 31/10 onwards as our lease was coming to its end but at this stage we didn't mind that there was only going to be a week and half that we would be displaced in temporary accommodation.

On the 10/11/21 Haroon's senior who checked over our file had found a missing coal mining report. We were shocked to find this as we kept asking if the enquiries and searches were all satisfactory prior to this point and we were assured by Haroon that it was. Haroon proceeded to be dishonest and said that he never received an instruction for a further coal mining report and even went as far as to say that he had never received the search results!

This was untrue as his team had sent over the search results to us for our records. Our lender also instructed a further coal mining report be made in the valuation report- so how he missed this- I do not know! As for why he was dishonest- I don't know- as it would've been impossible to get to the point of exchange if he never did receive the searches.

We were expected to pay for this negligence despite the fact that it has and still has us homeless. We refused to pay and with the support of the third party were able to finally get Haroon to take some accountability for his negligence. Safe to say, there has never been an admission to guilt, just constant excuses and blaming delays on everybody else but himself.

Due to this oversight, we have not been able to proceed as discharge of conditions from my developer were being awaited. This document got to him today and he still outlined around 6 discharge conditions he was awaiting. Our local authority was completely baffled as they had never had solicitors request this much documentation and even confirmed they were happy that all conditions had been met.

The seller's solicitor has also complained about not being able to get through to him to explain the council's stance also. Waiting for further discharge of conditions will mean adding an additional 8 weeks to our timeline, in which case our mortgage offer will have expired. NHBC have approved the build of the house also. It seems that Haroon has used this time as an opportunity to keep our case on the back burner yet again as he hasn't tried to exhaust all options We are now thousands of pounds out of pocket, indefinitely homeless, ill with stress and still no initiative or sense of urgency from Haroon. HELP!

Critical: Responsiveness I wanted them to represent my mother's medical negligence claim and they still never gave me an answer if they were going to represent me after 11 days. They were very keen to close the file but not to respond to my case. Unprofessional and unreliable.

Have been purchasing a property from a seller using PM Law as their representation. Every stage has been dreadful. Emails to our solicitors mentioning attachments that were never sent, partial documents provided, slow responses, impossible to contact. Myself and my partner are on the verge of pulling out of our purchase, entirely down to PM Law's negligence. If you don't want the same to happen to you, I'd avoid them at all cost.

Absolutely disgusting!. Have been or had been waiting to get files done for a work accident. Even though the case was incontestable by my companies admission they have managed to lose all of the case files twice. When I questioned why I hadn't received my last medical it turns out the solicitor in question hadn't even read the various and numerous reports for the medical. Basics like unable to carry on with my job due to amputation. Tbh had nothing but stress from them they didn't even give me confirmation of basic files they received.

I'm relieved I got another solicitor in to deal with the finalisation because they are only interested in the fee they get.please this is so no one else has to go through the stress.eg my company admitted responsibility after first letter a year ago and they are still losing forms and refusing to return calls and emails. Plenty of other solicitor's that offer a better service.

And this is PM law not one of the other disgraceful services they imply ie property law. After a year I'm moving on and reporting to the Legal Ombudsman so read the reviews like I should have. Again an absolute disgrace. Stay well clear. Ps for the owner who hides behind this is not PM law it's PM property Law like that's an excuse it appears you seem shoddy at the very best inadequate across the board

I am currently in the process of purchasing a property my partner and I offered on in July. It is a no chain sale, we are now cash buyers. The sellers are using PM Property Lawyers/PM Law (who are the same company but try to hide behind each other!). Every single step of the way has been complicated by these conveyancers. We initially wanted to complete by September 30th, this date has clearly flown by.

Now we wish to complete by Monday, the sellers are ready to exchange, we are ready to exchange, and our solicitor is ready to exchange but nobody can contact PM Property Lawyers! We are ready to pull out. If you want to sell your house this decade I would not recommend. Steer clear! You'll end up paying more in fees/your buyer's costs than you'll save using this company.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness Beyond awful firm. Spend 20 minutes just trying to get through to them which is basically a call centre, updates are usually 2 days out of date, incredibly unresponsive and ridiculously slow at everything. My advice would be to avoid this firm, they are terrible.

A truly terrible service from start to finish. I spent hours on the phone trying to chase at every stage. I would honestly estimate over 20hrs, the receptionist who was lovely was clearly mortified and embarrassed on every occasion once we went past the 5hr mark. Constantly promised call backs or return emails which never transpired at any point resulting in more calls required. forms were left uncompleted until last minute resulting in exchange being pushed back time and time again.

Despite me informing them on multiple occasions in writing and verbally that I did not wish to exchange and complete on the same day, as this is PM law guess what? I exchanged and completed on the same day! and to rub salt in the wound I had the removal guys at the new property with my two children and as it was all so slow on the day I didn't get the keys until 5pm. I did make a complaint but I didn't get very far as expected and in keeping with the whole process. Avoid, pay more and go local.

PM Law were great, house completed very quickly with no problems excellent price loads cheaper than other solicitors. Ours was a very straight forward sale. Would highly recommend them.
Jay Simpson
Just used this firm for my sale and purchase which wasn't the most straight forward due to the length of the chain but once everyone was singing from same sheet, all was well. The team who looked after me were great - always keeping me informed as to progress. Thanks again.
Mark Lawton
I found all dealings with PM Property Lawyers to be friendly, efficient and effective. I would admit to having some initial reservation to have a law firm deal with the sale of a property having not met them 'in the flesh' but any anxieties were soon dispelled. Contact by email or phone was simple and responsive. My wife and I used them to sell a house and found them to be absolutely true to their quote with no hidden costs on completion.

Their fee was, frankly, truly astonishing compared those suggested to me by high street solicitors based in my home town - we are talking savings of around two thirds!! I would use PM again at the drop of a hat and recommend to anyone including friends and family!
John Mitchelson
Joanne and her team were totally proffessional, and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Selling a house was not something I want to do again, but if I was to do so, I would have no hesitation to use these people again. First class. Thank you.
