Thought i was doing the fastest remortgage ever with Aldermore and i was super impress with how quick Aldermore service was and communication was excellent, until it got to the Legal (They do not reply emails, gives update and it is super impossible to get the conveyancer on the phone or to even check and confirm documents sent weeks ago)

Having been in a chain of 6 properties where our own solicitor was directly involved with this company I would suggest you avoid Russell and Russell at all costs. I've dealt with solicitors a great deal in my former capacity as an Estate Agent, but never in 35 years have I experienced incompetence such as this! How could you possibly be "ready to exchange" without a signed contract or a Transfer Deed in your possession, then, when they are sent to you Recorded Delivery and someone in your office signs for them you are unable to find them?

And that is the tip of the iceberg. There is such a saga of incompetence in between I honestly would be here all day! Being the first in the chain the monies had to be sent through to our solicitor on day of completion to then progress up the chain.3.45 is way too late.hence the absolute panic at 5p.m when it was a real possibility that the people above us would not be able to move into their new home. Thankfully other solicitors acted promptly. If you are offered the services of this firm through a mortgage provider.look for someone else.

I would strongly suggest avoiding this solicitor for conveyancing. The communication is extremely extremely poor and a level of unprofessionalism that you could not even contemplate. I am in the process of having Simon Tansey do conveyancing for a property purchase and his total disregard in replying, acknowledging both emails and phone calls is abhorrent and I have never in my experience suffered such poor communication from a professional.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star! Disappointed with the service I received, my case was not touched for 2.5 months and only when I called and emailed every day did someone start to look at it. The lack of communication and lengthy delays meant we nearly lost our house. It took 6 months to remortgage which should have been straight forward! If you can opt for any other firm I would strongly avoid Russell and Russell

Critical: Professionalism Absolutely awful firm. Never returned any of my calls for over 3 months, refused to help or offer legal support other than at the interview stage. I had to use another firm who couldn't conduct their jobs correctly as Russell and Russell wouldn't send them any documents relating to the case at hand. An absolute shambles which cost me dearly. I have had to file an appeal (which was successful) based on the lack of professionalism of this company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Fantastic service from start to finish. Gulrez Khan in particular was outstanding in assisting us with everything we needed. Paperwork was completed in record time and any queries we had were answered by him quickly and professionally. I can honestly say it was a pleasure to deal with Russell & Russell and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future. Thank you Gulrez!

Excellent service throughout the sale and purchase of our new home. We worked with David Kitchen and his team all of whom were superb and very responsive to questions. I would recommend without hesitation. Thank you for assisting us and making this transition run smoothly.

You can look forward to hidden charges, rude behaviour from staff post completion once they have your money and poor customer service. I went by recommendation but a big mistake. Avoid at all costs! Asking for important paperwork 3 months after a delay is apparently "demanding" it as they have "other clients" that take priority which is mentioned clearly in Gulrez Khan's email to me. Paying for a service and expecting it to be delivered in a timely manner is a crime these days. These kind of firms need to be reminded we are paying for their services and not asking for free work.

Absolutely appalling service. My partner is going through a divorce and TWICE has received somebody else's paperwork with personal details in it! So that means somebody else got hers. As others have stated they never ring back or respond to e mails and when they do contact you it's full of excuses and usually a different solicitor each time. She's also had a trainee dealing with her case despite paying for a fully qualified solicitor. I dealt with my own divorce and trust me it's quicker and easier than using Russel & Russel and obviously significantly cheaper

Started to use Aspinall & Co for a house sale, the buyer showed concerned over the choice of solicitor so the with 48hrs of instruction them I formally told Aspinall & Co I was going to have to work with someone else. For taking my initial phone call, sending me an email confirming I was working with them, and ordering land reg docs (9) they charged me 99.00, the total quote for the sale was 400.00, I did not even sign anything.

Though I accepted I would pay this, the fact they never at any point gave me bank details on any docs including the invoice and letter advising I was late paying made this hard so had to go chasing myself for these details. In summary, I would not recommend, the fee may be fair, you can judge, but the lack of care shown by not giving me info to pay does not give me confident the are a competent firm.

We used Aspinall & Co solicitors to buy our first flat and we are very glad we did. Outstanding customer services and our solicitor Tanya was absolutely amazing and friendly. Would definitely recommend their services. Thank you very much for all the hard work we really appreciate it.
