Absolutely terrible. Costs significantly higher than advised, work was done wrong which they failed to inform us about but charged me for and very poor service in general. The Ombudsman found POOR SERVICE. As for the response below which says they are sorry for poor service, when I complained they told me I received a satisfactory standard of service! Don't be fooled by their pretend helpful public responses! When I made them provide me with the time ledger, it showed charges for dealing with my complaint. It is ILLEGAL for solicitors to charge for dealing with a complaint! There were even charges for an email purporting to apologise for the poor service! They then used these phantom charges to offset compensation I was due for their poor service.

We discussed costs at the outset. All of the work to be completed was discussed and we were advised this would take 13-20 hours. When I closed our account, without the work even being completed, we had already been charged for 24.6 hours with a further 2.5 hours on the time ledger. This is without the work even being completed as I took it off them but they inexplicably wanted to keep a further £1900 for the work which another firm of solicitors would be completing! The time ledger was also inconsistent with what we had been told was owing on our account which is concerning. Obviously, when you are trusting a solicitor to charge you fairly you want to see clear consistent records with explanations for the charges. The time ledger was difficult to get hold of, I had to request it 3 times, finally contacting the complaints department. Also , work was done wrong. An application to the land registry was rejected and Neves did not even bother to tell us. I only discovered this when I contacted the Land Registry myself to find out what was going on and was told the application had been cancelled months previously which Neves had kept under its hat. Shocking. There was also rude behaviour, such as ignoring emails, I had to contact the managing partner to get the solicitor to respond to us. We used Machins in Luton for another matter and they were excellent.

Over many years moving home, I know the value of having a responsive and proactive solicitor to make the stressful task of house buying an easier process, we pay a lot of money for the legal fees and some solicitors just don't seem to earn their money, getting hold of them can be a nightmare, but this isn't the case with Haneef Khan at Neves (Luton) he is simply the best!

I have no hesitation to recommend him to anyone, please don't waste your money looking for the cheapest, Haneef is the best and most responsive, you can virtually always expect an immediate responsive from him. 5 stars!

Late review as we had purchased our property during Covid in 2020. We were previously with another conveyancer who stopped responding and we were lucky to discover Neves, where from day 1 Haneef was extremely quick and responsive, always keeping us up to date with the progress of our purchase.
