Im not sure about the above review but we used Gray Hooper Holt for our conveyancing and will service. We had a great service from them at a very reasonable price. I did bring up the review with them and they were aware of it being misleading. Any way great service and thanks for helping us buy our first house

(I would have given NO STARS, but had to give a star for the option to post review) If you are thinking of using this firm to represent you, then I would not think twice. WALK AWAY & FAST. Of all the companies that I have been involved with in my life, I can categorically state from the highest steeple that this firm comes top of one of the worse practises that I was unfortunate to stumble across.

Sometimes you go to solicitors when you need legal litigation or in a desperate situation. In my case it was the latter. This firm saw my desperation, seized their scrupulous opportunity, abused & betrayed my trust. I had an ongoing court case which I needed legal help. I by mischance saw this firm as I was going to the Post Office. They were directly opposite the PO.

I gave them details to my case. They examined them and agreed to take the case on but of course not without upfront payment. A Mr Arthur Li was a signed to my case. I paid them up front for initially examining my case. My instructions to Gray Hooper Holt LLP (GHH) which were in part from the court was clear & simple. To get me an appointment to obtain a medical report from a clinical psychiatrist & an extension of the court hearing. GHH had 3 months from when I came to them to complete the process of obtaining an appointment before the court hearing. GHH wanted further payment. GHH wanted full money before booking an appointment with the clinical psychiatrist & completing forms for an extension.

Most importantly GHH knew of the time constraints of the case but chose to neglect that fact. I paid the firm in full. The firm did not do what I had instructed them. They did not get me an appointment with the clinical psychiatrist or obtain an extension. Infact GHH did nothing to help me or my case. All they did was help themselves to my hard earned money. GHH failed to keep me in formed of the progress of the case.

The court hearing was a telephone hearing. A telephone hearing maybe convenient but I was not consulted if I wanted one. As Mr Li had failed to get a medical report this in turn failed the judge's decision to grant an extension. My case was struck out. The only statement of excuse that I got from GHH via Mr Li was that I took too long before I approached them.

If they were in my shoes they would have never started a claim in the first place. Mr Li's work is finished now. All the money I had paid is used up, & by the kindest of his heart he had done the telephone hearing for nothing. IT WAS ALL MY ENTIRE FAULT. When I became more suspicious of GHH actions and operations GHH became extremely defensive. GHH never gave me a scope (quotation) of the work they would be doing, or even terms & conditions.

I complained to a Mr Robert Gray, but this just fell on deaf ears. GHH never acknowledged to what they had done and most importantly of all no consideration to my feelings. I took my complaint about GHH to the Legal Ombudsman. In January 2017 the Legal Ombudsman found in my favour. Not only did GHH have to pay me compensation but they had to pay costs to the Legal Ombudsman.

To this day it baffles me on their ludicrous why operating a so called legitimate professional business. This firm chose to cut their nose to spite their face. A rather poor display for the reputation of Solicitors. In dealing with GHH, even to talking with the Redhill branches secretary they were uncannily rude. I was unlucky to come into contact not only with this firm and the people involved in there.

I cannot really speak for the quality of the other solicitors or employees from the other branches but I am a believer of the old saying. "The rotten apple does not fall far from its tree". If you value your sanity and want the best chance of winning your case then steer well clear of all branches associated with Gray Hooper Holt LLP in my realistic opinion. Especially Redhill.
