They were recommended to me by my own lawyer and i did not hesitate to use the based on their recommendation. HOWEVER, their services were very spotty and I lost confidence in them early on. I stuck with them despite my instincts and they have proven to be even worse. In the end they still insist i owe them for services they did not render. Do not use this firm.

This firm handled my case very poorly. My briother and I had a complex issue regarding the handling of our parents estate overseas. I found the firm's work to be poor quality, very slow in responding and the individual assigned - Naomi Charrington was not very good. She was ill informed and very flaky - often not responding. Would not recommend.

I was very disappointed with the service I received from Macfarlanes. I instructed them, in 2011, on potential recovery of illegal charges from an online exchange, which should have been a simple breach of contract claim, but they preferred to take an "unfair competition" line, which one QC described as "not worth the candle". They also advised my solicitor to adopt this approach, and as a result I lost a potential claim of around 100k.
I have commenced a claim against them for Professional Negligence but they have not complied with the Pre-action Protocol. In addition they did not send all the documents with my file, but withheld a crucial handwritten note.
